About Us

The Frogs Hollow Brewing Company is an off-grid, sustainably operated, independent brewery on the Far South Coast of New South Wales. Located at the headwaters of the Frogs Hollow Creek near the township of Wolumla in the Bega Valley Shire, the brewery is surrounded by farmland and national parks which creates a wonderful setting to brew up some fantastic drops.

Our connection to the local area and community is strong, with some of our beer names drawing inspiration from local places or attractions. We focus on using quality ingredients to create quality beers and where possible use local ingredients e.g. locally grown hops – we just want to keep things simple.

We’re a completely off-grid operation and have built or installed all the various buildings and services required to brew and run the brewery’s day-to-day activities. Our energy is generated by a 35kW solar setup which feeds into a 100kWh battery bank, with a back-up generator for redundancy. The water we use comes from the sky and is collected into 3 large water tanks around the property. This water is filtered and UV light treated before it goes into the brewing process. We also treat all our wastewater on site. We are constantly optimising our cleaning processes to use as little water for cleaning as possible and we make intelligent and sensible use of harsher cleaning chemicals. Once the waste water is treated, we use it to irrigate our property. Currently we compost our spent grains as part of a program to rehabilitate the land which was previously used as pasture for livestock.

As with any micro-brewery we’ll look to experiment and our range of beers will evolve over time, but we will also stay true to our philosophy of focusing on the quality of the beer and the rest should follow.

We currently operate as a wholesale producer, with our beer going straight to cans which are available through independent bottle shops and various restaurants across in the region. We do not operate a tasting or tap room and the brewery is not currently open to the public.

We hope you enjoy our beer and choose to visit the Far South Coast of New South Wales, to see this amazing land and what’s on offer.

Our Beers

Out of Towner Pale Ale

A single hopped pale ale that offers up the best of American and Australian pales resulting in a beer that has a great balance of hop flavours and floral notes. There is a medium level of maltiness that drinks smooth and clean, leaving a subtle bitterness on the palette. An easy everyday beer that’s hopping enjoyable for all occasions.

Jump the Wall Pilsner

A Bohemian style pilsner thats slightly sweet, crisp and has a light malt flavour, combined with a medium level of hop bitterness and low hop aromas and flavours. A great beer to pair with food, as it’s full flavoured but doesn’t linger on the palette. Perfect for those nights when you want to jump over to the neighbours pad to enjoy a few cold ones.

ABV 5.6% | 375ml

2K Too Far Witbier

Our take on the classic Belgian Witbier (white beer), is lightly hopped with a medium maltiness that is spiced with coriander seed, orange zest and a hint of chamomile resulting in clean, crisp taste with a tart finish. A perfect beer for those days when you want to just lounge on your lillypad.

Mimosa Mox Red Ale

A malty medium bodied dark ruby red ale that has a pleasant sweetness, creamy mouthfeel and a crisp dry finish. Brewed in the Irish style, this ale has a light hop profile, low bitterness level and featuring notes of toffee, biscuit & caramel. A great beer to enjoy as you survey the pond from the comfort of your own pad.

ABV 5.7% | 375ml

Gateway Oatmeal Stout

An approachable all season stout for those froglets just venturing to the darkside for the first time or those more seasoned frogs who take joy in the darkness of night time around the pond, probably near the fire. The Gateway provides a creamy but not too bitter finish, that showcases the roasted malt flavours of coffee, chocolate, and caramel.

Moon Bay IPA

Our Moon Bay IPA like its namesake located in Mimosa Rocks National Park is an alluring drop that will have you basking in the moonlight after a day of snorkelling, swimming or whatever your little froggy heart desires.

This India Pale Ale takes you back to an older era of IPA, with a beautiful golden colour, the waft of tropical fruits on the nose, a clean medium malt flavour and a pleasantly dry smooth bitter finish.

Valley Fog Hazy IPA

Tastes like summer lounging by the pond on a tropical island with loads of pineapple, passion fruit and citrus blowing in with the ocean breeze.

Double dry hopped with Amarillo and Necatron you’ll enjoy the aroma of this fruit salad before relaxing into the medium bodied flavour experience that wraps up with the bitterness of grapefruit on the palette.
